Resumen
The objective of this research is to understand the narrative configuration of resilience in families that have experienced the loss of one of their children by suicide.
Suicide is a phenomenon that has increased significantly in the region, according to statistics at the National level provided by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection through SIVIGILA, in the country between 2005 - 2014, 18,336 cases of consummated suicides; in 2014, 1,874 cases were presented; in 2015 it increased to 2,068 with an increase of 4.8% over the rate of the immediately preceding year and until the third quarter of 2016 there was an increase in the suicide rate of 18.3% over the previous year.
Resilience is not a phenomenon that is limited to the individual but is immersed in families, groups or communities, the resilient characteristics presented by subjects, families or groups at certain times will account for the level of susceptibility or weakness different events, on the other hand, their adaptation and resistance or overcoming the problem, will make a difference in the way in which the situation is resolved or confronted; In this sense, it is pertinent to speak of resilience since the development or not of this depends on how the process of loss and vital events has been carried out (Flórez, 2010).
This investigation was approached from the paradigm of complexity, with an epistemological proposal from social constructionism, second order cybernetics and the general theory of systems; As a method, the hermeneutic was used, which gives the possibility of giving another look with respect to reality, that where the latent meanings expressed through verbal and non-verbal language are found.
Suicide being a phenomenon that causes great concern at the social level and that entails affectations in the family system; two families from the city of Villavicencio were taken, together with the above, the narrative configuration is retaken as a tool that enables resilient experiences to emerge, and the in-depth interview is used as a data collection tool to later perform a content analysis.
