Resumen
The objective of the research was to implement a didactic strategy supported by ICT to improve the teaching of mathematics from the strengthening of the mathematical reasoning competence, in the fifth-grade students of the Rafael Uribe Uribe Educational Institution of the Municipality of Media Luna Department of Cesar - Colombia, rural education institution. The results of the students in the Saber 2017 tests show the shortcomings and weaknesses of these students with respect to mathematical skills. The study is located in the post-positivist paradigm, which, according to Dilthey, (2014), constitutes: "... the process by which we know psychic life with the help of sensitive signs that are its manifestation" (p. 102). Regarding the approach, it is located in the mixed with descriptive-explanatory level, under a field design. The population consisted of 116 students and four teachers of the same grade; the sample is comprised of 15 students and four teachers from the same Institution. As a technique, the survey, the semi-structured interview and the observation were used. The instruments were a script of questions, an observation record and two Likert-type surveys. Methodologically, the phases of Tamayo and Tamayo (2003) were followed. The technique and data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. The information revealed by the interview was treated through the triangulation process. The results allowed the elaboration, application and evaluation of the action plan based on didactic strategies supported by ICT. It was concluded that the action plan focused on the development of digital applications (Math Jump and Mathematics IXL), produced motivation and interest in the students, since the strategies led to a greater understanding in a clear and concise manner, facilitating the learning of mathematics. mathematical reasoning competence.
