Resumen
The competitiveness of a country depends on the synergy existing in all the territories that
comprise it; Each of the national regions is required to work in line with innovation strategies
that complement each other and develop added value in terms of enabling conditions, human
capital, market efficiency and innovative ecosystem. In this document, it is intended to establish
innovation strategies applicable to capital cities of Colombia with a lower competitiveness rating,
this, in order to increase their efficiency and decentralize the development that today is
concentrated in main cities, an objective that is achieved through literature analysis and
indicators of innovation and competitiveness studies. The findings that are part of the research
established that cities such as Mitú, Puerto Carreño, Inírida, Leticia, San Jose del Guaviare and
Arauca have a competitiveness gap compared to cities such as Bogotá and Medellín, which
obtain up to a double rating, references that made it possible to determine strategies that will
be able to leverage a better result in the indicators of the capital cities most affected.
