Resumen
This work intends from case studies, the recognition of Colombian teachers as Human Rights Defenders and through a statistical analysis demonstrate how they have suffered political violence for performing their work as critical trainers of young consciences that seek to transform the country, being these scenarios of tension against the official discourse and public policies where teachers fight. The historical context of the investigation was the years 2002-2010 in Colombia, during the presidential periods of Álvaro Uribe Vélez, which are summarized as an institutional offensive against Defenders and the teaching profession, in the framework of implementation of the Democratic Security policy, systematically denying the existence of an armed conflict that led to an increase in threats and other forms of violence against teachers.
It is an attempt to keep in memory the hundreds of lives lost in an armed conflict that took them as enemies for the conviction of their arguments from the classrooms. The historical context to understand political violence.
