Resumen
The results presented of pressure and currents variations in the bottom layer on shallow water of the north beach of sand bar El Mogote, on July from 25 to 29 of 1994, recorded with 1 Hz the first 10 min, each two hours. The tides at stations A and P they were in phase with mean amplitudes of 1.41 and 1.37 m, respectively. The currents at A change from 1.42 to 11.03 cm/s and it going toward 90° and 260°, at the point P the currents fluctuated betwin 0.80 to 3.71 cm/s, going to toward 300°. Energy spectra of currents contain the following components: general bay circulation (as a trend), tidal current components with periods close to 12 and 24 hr, wave orbital current components (swell) of periods 10-18 s, local wind waves of periods 3-8 s and some infragravity waves (IG) with period between 60-200 s. It is supposed that this IG waves are of local origin due to nonlinear interactions between local wind waves and swells.
