In order to improve the quality of life of patients with major depressive disorder was conducted a longitudinal prospective analytical study where they evaluated the implementation of a program of psychoeducation in patients attending psychiatric consultation.
The objective was to evaluate the quality of life by scales in patients with major depressive disorder. We randomized 100 adult patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder, integrating two groups, the first group received psychoeducation and the second group did not receive it. All participants received conventional treatment was treated with psychiatric drugs and some form of psychotherapy. The control group is scaled clinimetric (baseline), and two weeks later, they took a new record by a telephone interview. The group under study was applied to the initial questionnaires received psychoeducation program, and subsequently underwent a telephone interview. The results were compared to find statistically significant difference between groups. We conclude that a brief psychoeducational program intervenes in the quality of life of patients with major depressive disorder.
