1) Las unidades fundamentales son las mismas que las del sistema Giorgi (m, kg, s, coulomb);
dc.description | A system of electric unities and measures is proposed, whose principal characteristics are:
1. The fundamental unities are the same as those of Giorgi’s system (m, kg, s, coulomb).
2. The electric field E and the magnetic fiel H have the same physic dimensions and they are both taken as components of a single entity which is the field hexavector. In this way the electromagnetic field can be described by a single tensor (160, 171, 166-167 and 174-175).
3. The constants ε and μ are dimensionless numbers and in vacuum they equal 1.
4. Only two dimensional constants appear in the formu- lae: k (48-49) and c (50, 53-54, 57-59). These constants are linked to ε and μ in Giorgi’s rationalized system (G. R.) and to ε and μ in Giorgi’s nonrationalized system (G. no R.) by equations 224 and 225. By means of equations 227-230 it is possible to pass from the symmetrical system (S. S.) to G. R. and G. no R.
5. In the proposed system the “rationalization”, so to cali a trivial substitution (239); (231 and 240), is automatic and achieved without a change of unities.
6. The word lorentz is proposed to ñame the intensity unity of the field in this system (64-65).
7. “Dynamic flux” φ is defined by 110 in order to pass from 109 to 111 and to mesure φ in weber. The same result ic obtained if the reluctance is defined by 261.
8. The so-called correspondence of Sommerfeld is dis- cussed and it is shown that it makes no sense to state that E and B belong to the same hexavector while D and H belong to another (∮ 13).
