O perfil dos usuários do serviço de dependência química de um hospital escola do interior do Rio Grande do Sul: implicações no cotidiano sob o olhar da terapia ocupacional na perspectiva de um cuidado integral e interdiciplinar

The focus of this study was to identify the users profile of the addiction service from a hospital-school in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the imposed implications on their daily life under the perspective of Occupational Therapy in the context of a comprehensive and interdisciplinary care. In order to do so, it was realized a quantitative and qualitative approach survey, descriptive type. Data were collected from 160 medical records of users who have been admitted in chemical dependency during the period from October 2009 to October 2010. The data selection was performed using a form with variables concerning socio-demographic characteristics and history of hospitalizations and health conditions in the last hospitalization. The results showed the predominance of male subjects (94%), aged 40-50 years (41%), whose marital status is predominantly divorced or separated (36%), and not engaged in the labor market (55%). The predominant chemical was alcohol (75%). It was observed a significant level of daily life disruption, difficulty in social, family and professional relations. Therefore, considering the analyzed profile, it was revealed, from the view point of Occupational Therapy, the relevance of interdisciplinary work aiming to a comprehensive care.
