Resumen
With the development and advance of technology year after year, thousands of electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers and televisions have become obsolete and therefore disposed of as waste in many different locations, and even improper ones. This work will present a proposal for improvements to problems encountered in the reverse logistics of electronic equipment within the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), seeking to solve the problem of accumulation of electronic materials at the end of their useful life and to prevent environmental problems that may be caused by the way these equipments are disposed of. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to reduce the accumulation of electronic equipment at the end of its useful life at UFSM. This research was conducted according to the following steps: a) identification of the most relevant problems regarding the disposal of electronic equipment in the UFSM (accounting, space, environmental, lack of procedures); b) investigation, in literature, of other similar practical cases that use the technique of reverse logistics; c) identification of solutions that enable the correct disposal and/or reuse of these equipment; d) proposition of a methodology, through procedure, to carry out reverse logistics of end-of-life electronic equipment at UFSM focusing on preserving the environment and releasing space in the institution. In the theoretical scope this work is justified because there are few researches available in literature addressing the reverse logistics of electronic materials. The disuse of certain electronic equipment, which become obsolete over the years, generates a considerable accumulation of assets in the deposit of the institution. As a result, this paper presents a logistic reserve methodology for a correct destination of the equipment aiming at environmental preservation, the release of occupied space and patrimonial adjustment.
