dc.description.abstractThe misery is a blend of social vulnerability and a economic perspective, essential for understanding children with special educational needs in the context presented here. This perspective guides the study, conducted at the Instituto Estadual Padre Caetano. To illustrate this work and incite the theme is used short film called "Ilha das Flores" which focuses the problematic of whose live inside and by the trash. The choice is justified because the students are usually sons and daughters of trash scavengers’, living in a very poor area of Santa Maria city. The reflection is about how the social context of extreme poverty will reflect on the student and how the school manager sees this as a student. Considering that this student at the school still carries the stigma of special educational needs and has difficulties of social integration increased. Is necessary approach to the student through his reality, and only from this perspective educate, since personal experiments and experiences of student are critical on her education. Thinking education of students twice excluded is a hard work, and a challenge for the school manager to seek teaching strategies, becoming classroom an attractive environment. The work aims to help with that, exploring possibilities for creating new images from the reality of that student.
