Outward Foreign Direct Investment represents the biggest step towards the internationalization of a company, after the export process. This process represents an improvement in the competitiveness of enterprises, translated into bigger international market penetration, access to better technology, natural resources and research.
This research project aims to develop a proposal for tools or services to promote outward foreign direct investment, focused on productive linkages.
Firstly, the theoretical framework under which the project was developed will be presented, by collecting relevant information on theories of internationalization and description of production linkages and clusterisation.
Secondly, the macroeconomic environment and historical evolution in direct investment flows abroad in Colombia and Latin America arose will be presented.
And finally, a comparative study of the services provided by major investment promotion agencies, as a basis for further development of the proposed investment promotion instruments will be done.
