Resumen
Introduction: education has been recognized for millennia as a task that builds society and has evolved according to changes in the environment, however, working conditions for educators have deteriorated over time. The budget reduction for education, the flexibility in the types of contracts, the dedication in unpaid time, are aspects that generate pressure, bringing with them negative effects on health. The Burnout syndrome appears as a response to stress when it comes to working with communities and in this case when the detriment of the conditions is added and it is evaluated from three aspects called emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low professional achievement. Objective: to characterize the Burnout syndrome in teachers and its relationship with the conditions of job stability. Materials and methods: this study was a systematic literature review with a search for works published between 2007 and 2017. The databases used were Pubmed, Scielo, Google Scholar, Cochrane and Medline, the Mesh terms used were Professional burnout, depersonalization, adjustment disorders, personal fulfillment, teaching, job satisfaction and the Spanish and English languages. 46 articles were selected for the present review. Results: it is evidenced in the various studies consulted in the development of the review, that there is no direct relationship between job stability and Burnout syndrome, however, it is clear that the factors that are part of the working conditions such as the structure in the remuneration modality, the established work methods, the assigned hourly intensity and the additional required by the teachers to comply with their obligations, generate symptoms in their health that can reach them affect emotionally, physically and mentally. Conclusion: an incipient relationship was evidenced with the emotional exhaustion component of the Burnout syndrome and the working conditions to which teachers are exposed, however, it is difficult to specifically correlate aspects of job stability with suffering from the Syndrome.
