Relación de los factores laborales e individuales con la carga mental de los trabajadores de una institución minera (2014)

Objective: To establish the relationship of labor and individual factors with the mental load of workers in the mining area of recruitment and qualification and monitoring and control in a mining institution during 2014. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional study of 298 workers working in a mining Institution in Bogota. The identification of labor and individual factors related to mental workload was made by applying a questionnaire individual filling using guide Estimating mental workload: method NASA TLX , in which analysis of measures of central tendency was performed and relationship was investigated through the Pearson Chi squared test using significance level of 5% , with SPSS 20 software . Results: The population was predominantly male , where most of the workers were engineers from the area of monitoring and control, statistically significant association between the profession is evidenced by the perception of physical challenges ( p ≤ 0.001 ) , similarly between area work with the perception of mental load ( p ≤ 0.001), which states that the mental burden and professional factor (technical ) and the labor factor (area of monitoring and control), are crucial for the development of physiological fatigue and cognitive , since in these more physically demanding on technical workers with 81.40 % and workers in the area of monitoring and control with a 99.04 % is evident . Conclusion: High mental demand, time and effort on workers and a significant relationship between the professions with the perception of physical challenges, predominantly in technical, followed by lawyers and engineers and between the workspace with the perception of mental demand was found, It is higher in the area of monitoring and control.
