Resumen
This research has the interest of studying the case of massive violence experienced in Cambodia under the command of the Khmer Rouge. In particular, it is intended to analyze the drastic transformations promoted by Pol Pot on the institutions of school and family; transformations that have caused a very serious social disintegration, whose historical significance is hard to express. Taking into account the economic, political and social context that led to the regime of the Democratic Kampuchea, Marxism is used as a theoretical approach to analyze what happened in Cambodia. From the concept of social structure, this work goes deeper into the theory through its premises, with the intention to arrive at the comprehension of the role and importance of the institutions of the school and the family as Ideological State Apparatuses . This exercise helps to identify the main discrepancies between the theory, which Pol Pot was appealing, and practices of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.
