Granada Brito, Juliana
Child trafficking is a phenomenon that is increasingly drawing the attention of the international system and has generated significant cooperative efforts of international agencies such as UNICEF and ECPAT. Both agencies have focused their activities in regions with the higher rates of violation of Human Rights. In this case of study the focus is on mainland Southeast Asia consisting of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and Malaysia, in order to determine how both agencies have worked in this region and the scope of their contribution to solve the problem through the sign of international accords, the implementation of the national legislations and cooperation programs. Despite the work done not only by international organizations but also by government authorities, there has not been a real reduction in the numbers.
