This project aims to show opportunities for Colombian SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) about potential suppliers of quality raw material, and highlighting the requested highest quality import products from the North Triangle, taking advantage of the Free Trade Agreement that exists between Colombia and the Northern Triangle (TN): El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. This investigation shows the import profile of each Colombian department of products that come from the North Triangle.
The investigation is divided into four parts. In the first one, the importance and potential of this market for conducting business will be discussed. In the second, the import evolution of products of each Colombian department from each member country of the Northern Triangle, analyzing with information extracted database in the WISER TRADE. This is exposed in big detail, having the ten principal import products from each department from each country member of the Northern Triangle, as well as main suppliers of these goods for each department.
In the third part, we will analyze the benefits of importing goods from Northern Triangle and detail how to do business with them, draft import tariff charges, organizations that help facilitate the process of imports, and tariff charges model will be presented. Finally, in the last part are the findings and recommendations for any agent interested in importing from the Northern Triangle to Colombia.
