El papel de la industria cinematográfica colombiana en la promoción de imagen del país a nivel internacional (período 2003-2012)

This research paper, aims to determine the role of Colombian cinematographic industry in the country’s image promotion at an international level during the governments of Alvaro Uribe and Juan Manuel Santos. It argues that the Colombian cinematographic industry has influenced the country’s image promotion at an international level, since it has increased the presence of Colombian cinema in the most important cinema festivals in the world, generating more figuration of Colombia’s name in international scenarios, projecting itself as a country that promotes its cinema, which has been possible thanks to a cinema promotion policies by the State. To develop this research, the concepts of cultural diplomacy, image promotion and cinematographic industry will be used. As methodology, documentary and field design will be used, including interviews with experts in cinema.
