Resumen
Since 1945, in the beginning of the Palestinian affair, it has undergone a series of transformations in legitimacy and interventions in their sovereignty, which currently are still in dispute; and they have resulted in the study of the recognition of Palestine as a state. It is important to make an approach to this issue from the religious point of view (Vatican), taking into account the large number of holy places that are in Palestine and in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In the light of the Soft Power, a concept that has been gaining strength in the academy since 1980’s, we can approach the under study and explain the interference of this actor. Through a qualitative approach, which involves discourse analysis, historical analysis and foreign policy analysis, the expected result will be achieved, which is to understand how the Vatican exerts influence (ideological and cultural) in the International System in the recognition of Palestine statehood.
