This project presents recommendations to the Colombian SMEs regarding a process of internationalization of its products in Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and Luxembourg, countries inside the European Union; based on the analysis of entry barriers, the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Colombia, as well as the behavior of the trade balance between them. In the following analysis, we consolidate information necessary and useful to carry out the construction of a plan of work to penetrate European markets, generating a greater range and customer growth; for greater visibility mainly of products and the country, creating a need in the penetrated markets. With the aforementioned purpose, is that a recount is done from the basics, through the export route and raise barriers to reach opportunities in these markets in the European Union. Within the basics it is mentioned to what it means a SME, the main focus of this project, highlighting its importance in the society and especially in the economy of a country, contributing to the trade balance in the moment is started an export process of products. This analysis during development leads to raise a number of conclusions and recommendations that will be useful for entrepreneurs with export intensity, as well as providing an enriching contribution from the perspective of future professionals in this document reflected knowledge acquired during five years, plus the ability to select and search for specific information that provides support for the presentation of this valuable topic.
