Resumen
The purpose of this case study is to analyze the involvement of the Consejo Territorial de Cabildos and all its affiliates represented through transnational environmental defense networks at the United Nations. The function of the United Nations and the spaces in which indigenous peoples take part, are examined, specifically where dealing with environmental issues. An approach toward the emergence of track II diplomacy is taken to reconstruct social movements and indigenous diplomacy that lead toward the participation of organizations that benefit the CTC in spaces within the United Nations that privilege environmental themes that specifically describe the initiatives of the SNSM peoples.
