Resumen
A digital tester of automotive computers has been designed and built. It serves to reinforce the studies in the Automotive Engineering Career at ESPOCH (Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo). The Arduino Due electronic card which is a 32-bit microcontroller with digital/analogic inputs and outputs and Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) was used to carry out this project. A 7” tactile screen compatible with this electronic card was incorporated to get a better operation and visualization. Programming and simulating of signals from the crankshaft position sensor were carried out with Arduino Integrated Development Environment – or Arduino Software (IDE). This software helped to visualize by programming language, injection pulses and coils from Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the car. This signals generated by Arduino Due were set up by electronic circuits widening and rectifying the voltage, so that they can be incorporated by ECU. According to the operation characteristic of electronic card, the maximum operation voltage is 3.3v, in consequence the signals sent by the car computer reduced the tension. Operation tests with two ECU with different characteristic were carried out. The former belonged to a 3.2-L cylinder Chevrolet Luv pick up, and the latter belonged to a 1.6-L cylinder Chevrolet Corsa B. As a result, the taster ran the best. The signals generated by device were recognized by the car computers and output computer signals to the tester were observed in the tactile screen.
