Resumen
The present study aimed to design an educational intervention strategy on pregnancy risk factors in adolescents aged 15 to 19 years. A cross - sectional descriptive - correlational study was performed. The study population was the universe of 40 adolescent women aged 15 to 19 years of the Royal Palace communities, Bayushig San Vicente and Asuncion, Calpi Parish, in the period January - June 2016. The data were collected by interview. The SPSS version 21 statistical package was used with the Chi-Square test (x2) to determine the relationship and significant differences between the study variables, with a level of significance <0.05. The results were that the mean age of the study group was 17 years, the 77.5% of the adolescents presented secondary education (n = 35), 82.5% without any pregnancy (n = 33), 82.5% were students (n = 33), 62.5% without partner (n = 25). In 90% of adolescents, the information received on risk factors for adolescent pregnancy was through school (n = 36) and the prevalence of unsatisfactory knowledge was 77.5% (n = 31). There was no statistically significant relationship between knowledge and the biosocial variables studied. In conclusion, knowledge about the risk factors of pregnancy in adolescence is unsatisfactory. The educational intervention strategy is relevant for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies in this age group.
