Resumen
The objective of this research was to determine the prevalence of hospital malnutrition and its clinical
condition. Also , the surgical condition based on
social and demographic determinants and the nutritional
subjective global assessment at the Eugenio
Espejo Hospital was studied The method applied
was carry out on two types of surveys; one based on
quality patient care and the second based on the
nutritional
Subjective Global Assessment
(SGA)
survey. A single
variable
analysis was performed
to establish
the prevalence
and the
association of
the
variable
effect or result
.
Later on, a
multivariate logistic regression
analysis
to establish
the specific
weight
of each
factor was performed.
For the analysis
and interpretation of
results
,
the
JPM

statistical package was used
. Performing the evaluation on
150 patients
the results were
:

were
women and48.7
%
men
. The p

belong to
a low social level with a
range of

between the
quality
of care
and the nutritional status

.
It was
concluded that the value of
hospital malnutrition
is
within the range
of
existing
prevalence
in Latin America
.
An important factor in
hospital malnutrition
is the lack of
specialized
technical
equipment
in
nutritional care
,
preventing a
fast recovery and
recommends the
sequence
of this study.
