Resumen
This research was conducted in the laboratories and Biotherium of the School of Biochemistry and Pharmacy - ESPOCH, with the objective of evaluating the healing activity of a gel made from extracts of Walnut (Juglans neotropica Diels), Nettle (Urtica dioica L), aloe vera (Aloe vera) with wounds induced in the back of mice previously depilated (Mus musculus). The extract of the three plants was used for quality control, phytochemical screening, quantification, formulation and quality control of the gel. Experiments were performed on mice divided into 5 groups: A (negative control), B (positive control) using lamoderm, C, D, E, to which 30% gel was applied at different formulations: F1 (10% Walnut, 10% Nettle, 10% Aloe Vera), F2 (15% Walnut, 10% Nettle, 5% Aloe Vera), F3 (20% Walnut, 5% Nettle, 5% Aloe Vera) respectively, administered topically with sterile swabs applied twice a day for the required time, and the skin was extracted for histopathological analysis. The ANOVA test was used for data analysis. The gel has a pH of 6.32, absence of contaminating microorganisms. The resulting optimal formulation was F1 and F2, in an average of 6 and 7 days. In the histopathological examination the GC, GD and GE had 60% cell regeneration. It is concluded that the gel has healing activity in minor skin wounds affirming the hypothesis proposed, due to the presence of walnut tannins, nettle flavonoids, and aloe vera mucilages, which when combined present synergy. It is recommended to carry out the gel stability study, by means of analytical methods to obtain data on the useful life time.
