dc.descriptionLa presente introducción plantea la necesidad de estudiar un aspecto que ha pasado desapercibido en la historiografía, relativamente, en torno a la relación de los obispos con los curas y sus jurisdicciones. Nos referimos al del gobierno de las parroquias. La creación de los obispados en los dominios españoles de América significó gobernar enormes jurisdicciones territoriales. Esta característica provocó diversas problemáticas. En consecuencia, los obispos ensayaron diversas formas de organización parroquial y de supervisión, con el fin de lograr los objetivos marcados por la normativa conciliar, o bien, la política eclesiástica vigente. Los cinco artículos siguientes dan cuenta de varios de esos ensayos y algunos de sus resultados.
dc.descriptionThis proposes the need to study an aspect that has gone unnoticed in historiography, relatively, around the relationship of the bishops with the priests and their jurisdictions. We refer to the government of the parishes. The creation of bishoprics in the Spanish dominions in America meant governing huge territorial jurisdictions. This feature caused various problems. Consequently, the bishops tested various forms of parish organization and supervision, in order to achieve the objectives set by the conciliar regulations, or the current ecclesiastical policy. The following five articles give an account of several of these trials and some of results.
