Resumen
El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la actividad antioxidante y fotoprotectora de la cremagel elaborada con el extracto metanólico de las hojas del Piper elongatum Vahl. var. salviaefolium (Miq.) Trel. (matico). Se realizó un tipo de estudio experimental, in vitro, cuantitativo. Se trabajó con extracto: al ambiente, con rotavapor y en estufa, de hojas de la planta recolectada del distrito Pichirua de la provincia de Abancay departamento de Apurímac Perú, se realizó un estudio fitoquímico y la determinación de la capacidad
antioxidante por el método espectrofotométrico utilizando el radical DPPH y ABTS y se evaluó el Factor de Protección Solar (FPS) mediante la metodología in vitro descrita por Mansur. Se evidenció la presencia de metabolitos secundarios los cuales fueron: Alcaloide (Dragendorff, Mayer, Wagner), compuestos fenólicos, Cumarinas, flavonoides, quinonas y taninos. La crema gel elaborada con extracto metanólico de hojas de matico al 1%, presentó capacidad antioxidante 163,919 uM (método DPPH) y una
capacidad antioxidante de 121,400 uM (método ABTS), y un factor de protección solar de 5,334.
