Selección de un floculante natural e implementación a un sistema de tratamiento combinado como alternativa de reutilización de aguas grises en el sector construcción

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el comportamiento dos tratamientos a base de penca de O. ficus-indica (TRAT-1) y semillas de M. oleifera (TRAT-2) como floculantes naturales, ambos combinados con carbón activado, para reducir la concentración de los contaminantes de las aguas grises de un proyecto de construcción. Para la determinación de la concentración óptima de los floculantes se trabajó con la prueba de jarras, se obtuvo que ambos tratamientos redujeron la turbidez en un 85% y 87%, respectivamente. Posteriormente al utilizar el filtro de carbón activado con cada floculante se evidenció que el TRAT-2 tuvo una mejor reducción de los parámetros de la calidad de agua en comparación con el TRAT-1, mostrando un mayor potencial de coagulación, además de mejorar varios parámetros de calidad del agua. En conclusión, la semilla de M. oleifera, en combinación con el carbón activado, tiene mayor potencial para reducir la concentración de los parámetros de las aguas grises tales como DBO, DQO, sólidos totales, aceites y grasas y coliformes Termotolerantes.
