The cocoa crops are considered a flag crop in Perú, due to its economic importance (Moscol, 2011). But it is affected by various diseases that affect the production of the crop, causing considerable losses, as is the case of the witch's broom (Moniliophthora perniciosa) (Motamayor et al, 2002). With the objective of determining the epidemiology of Moniliophthora perniciosa (witch's broom) in accessions of wild cocoa from samples collected from the Alto Amazonas basin. By means of the identification of accessions with less incidence to witch's broom, realized with a card of evaluations of incidence validated by the ICT in agreement with the USDA. It was carried out in the Experimental Station "El Choclino" of the Institute of Tropical Crops, located in the Banda de Shilcayo; Province and Department of San Martín. The experimental design was of Completely Random Blocks (DBCA), for this study 20 cacao accessions were evaluated from the basins of the rivers Santiago and Morona del Alto Amazonas, which were collected the vegetative material in the first expedition carried out in 2008. Taking as factors of evaluation the incidence of witch's broom of fruits, floral cushion and buds. The results indicated that the genotype SAN 235 of the Santiago River and the genotypes MOR 202, MOR206 and MOR 258 of the Morona river, did not present incidence of witch's broom in fruits, floral cushion and buds at the end of the study, reason why it is considered promising for its resistance to witch's broom.
