The study of Data Science (DS) concepts has gained significant attention across various fields and industries, including those outside the realm of Computer Science. For example, some programs offered at Carnegie Mellon University suitable for Information Systems careers [16], have begun to incorporate concentrations in Data Science, while others, like the degree in Management and Digital Business offered at UTEC [15], also offer similar specializations. Additionally, some institutions that offer Industrial Engineering programs have designated elective courses in the area of data science [11], perhaps in recognition of their importance in developing sectors like Industry 5.0. However, there currently exists no standardized framework governing the number of Programming or Computer Science (CS) courses that should be required within these programs that are not primarily focused on Computer Science. Furthermore, with the increasing accessibility of datasets and data science tools, the question of how deeply students should be exposed to programming concepts remains under-addressed.
