Resumen
En el presente trabajo se da a conocer los resultados obtenidos de la determinación de glicemia realizada a 90 personas adultas de ambos sexos del Asentamiento Humano Virgen del Socorro del Distrito La Esperanza en Marzo 2010; comprendidos entre las edades de 18-60 años; para lo cual se tomaron las muestras de sangre respectivas y fueron sometidas al análisis por el método enzimático de la Glucosa Oxidasa, determinando así la glicemia de cada paciente. El objetivo que perseguimos fue determinar la frecuencia de personas con valores glicémicos disminuidos, normales y elevados. Para la interpretación de resultados se utilizó el cálculo de porcentaje según la división por sexo y por edad, y según la glucosa: Hipoglicemia, Normoglicemia e Hiperglicemia. El 21,11% de los pacientes presentaron Hipoglicemia, 65.56% fueron normoglicémicos y el 13.33% presentaron Hiperglicemia. Según la edad, el mayor porcentaje de Hipoglicemia (7.78%) lo constituyeron los pacientes cuyas edades comprendían entre 51-60 años, mientras que el mayor porcentaje de Hiperglicemia (7.78%) tenían edades comprendidas entre 41-50 años de edad
