Resumen
Determinar la influencia del confinamiento por la Pandemia COVID-19 en el nivel de actividad física de escolares de nivel primaria de una institución educativa urbana.
Material y método: Estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal. Se aplicó un cuestionario a 101 padres/tutores de estudiantes del nivel primario de una institución educativa urbana, recolectando información sobre el nivel de actividad física durante el confinamiento y los cambios, informados por los padres, del nivel de actividad física entre febrero 2020 (pre pandemia) y agosto 2021, 20 meses post de declararse la pandemia Covid-19 en nuestro país.
Resultados: El 43,6% de estudiantes fueron catalogados como “insuficientemente inactivos”, el 33,7% fueron “activos”, y el 22,8% fueron “moderadamente activos”. El 34,7 % de estudiantes hacía la misma cantidad de actividad física antes y durante el confinamiento; mientras que el 32,7% hacía actividad física 1 - 3 días menos a la semana durante el confinamiento en comparación con febrero 2020. Se encontró una asociación estadísticamente significativa (p = 0,0003) entre el nivel de actividad física durante la pandemia y los cambios informados por los padres.
Conclusiones: El confinamiento influyó negativamente en el nivel de actividad física.
