Efecto de calophyllum brasiliense en la memoria espacial y la lipoperoxidación de membranas neuronales en rattus norvegicus var albinus ooforectomizadas

En el presente trabajo de investigación se determinó el efecto del extracto acuoso de las hojas de Calophyllum brasiliense en la memoria espacial y la lipoperoxidación de membranas neuronales en Rattus norvegicus var albinus ooforectomizadas. Se utilizaron treinta especímenes hembras, de tres meses y medio de edad, con un peso entre 150 – 250g, veinticuatro de ellas fueron previamente ooforectomizadas y distribuidas en grupos blanco, control, patrón, problema 1 y problema 2. Al grupo control se le administró vía oral (V.O) NaCl 9º/oo, el grupo patrón recibió valerato de estradiol en dosis de 200 μg/Kg/día de una solución acuosa de 0,250 %P/V V.O y a los grupos problemas 1 y 2, se les administró extracto acuoso de las hojas de Calophyllum brasiliense en dosis de 0,5 g /kg/día y 2,0 g /kg/día respectivamente, a todos los grupos se les administro por un espacio de 8 semanas. La memoria espacial fue evaluada mediante la técnica Laberinto Acuático de Morris. Para determinar la lipoperoxidación en membranas neuronales se utilizó la técnica del ácido tiobarbitúrico (TBARS) a 532 nm. Se concluye que el extracto acuoso de las hojas de Calophyllum brasiliense a dosis de 0,5 y 2,0 g/kg/día presentan efecto antioxidante expresado en la disminución de los niveles de malondialdehído; siendo la dosis de 0,5 g/kg/día con mejor efecto protector (p ≤ 0.05).
