Caracterización microestructural de un cordón de soldadura de un acero API 5L X-70

En esta investigación se realizó la caracterización microestructural del cordón de soldadura
de un acero API 5L X-70 soldada con el electrodo E-7018. El objetivo es evaluar e identificar
las fases presentes en la soldadura y su efecto sobre las propiedades mecánicas, la dureza y
las propiedades electroquímicas.
Para lo cual se preparó una muestra metalográfica, pulida mecánicamente, y luego de un
ataque químico con reactivo NITAL al 3%, se colocó al microscopio óptico para revelar las
microestructuras. Investigamos la estructura de bandas típica del acero hipoeutectoide en la
microestructura de granos de ferrita y colonias de perlita de los metales base antes
mencionados.
Al analizar la microestructura de la zona calentada (ZAC) se observa ferrita en el límite de
grano (GF); ferrita y agregados de carburo (FC), ferrita poligonal (PF) y ferrita acicular (PF).
La microestructura del metal aportado muestra la formación de fases cuyo aspecto dentro de
los granos de austenita evoluciona de ferrita acicular (AF) a ferrita poligonal (PF), ferrita
con M-A-C alineado (AC) y ferrita con inclusiones de carburo (FC).. La distinción
microestructural observada en estas áreas es el menor tamaño del grano de ferrita en la región
de fusión y ligeramente más amplio en la ZAC.
Se realizó el ensayo de análisis químico para determinar los elementos presentes en la
probeta del acero API 5L X-70 generando como resultado el 0.149% C en el metal base y
del 0.042% en el metal de aporte.
Se realizó el ensayo de dureza a una carga de 30kg-f en la máquina de durómetro
INDENTEC generando como resultados en el Metal Base 225.99 HV, en la Zona de Fusión
de 235.84 HV y en la Zona Afectada por el Calor de 238.35 HV
