Determinación de hemoglobina y hematocrito en pacientes adultos de ambos sexos que acuden al Policlínico Multipharma de la Hermelinda, Enero - Junio 2017

Se determinaron los niveles de hemoglobina y hematocrito en pacientes adultos de ambos sexos que acuden al Policlínico Multipharma de la Hermelinda durante los meses de Enero a Junio del 2017. Se tomaron las muestras de sangre, se realizaron exámenes bioquímicos de hemoglobina (Hb) y hematocrito (Hto) y se llevó a cabo una anamnesis nutricional para conocer el hábito alimenticio de los pacientes. Fueron un total de 120 pacientes adultos de ambos sexos, de los cuales 49 fueron de sexo masculino y 71 de sexo femenino. Los valores promedios obtenidos fueron: hemoglobina 13,64 g/dL; hematocrito 39,75%; IMC 28,38 Kg/cm2; edad 49 años. En los niveles de Hb el 51,7% de los pacientes tuvieron disminuida, el 38,3% de los pacientes tuvieron normal y el 10,0% de los pacientes tuvieron aumentada. En cuanto a los niveles de Hto el 52,5% de los pacientes tuvieron disminuido, el 42,5% de los pacientes tuvieron normal y el 5,0% de los pacientes tuvieron aumentado. La relación entre las variables, aplicando la prueba del chi cuadrado (p<0,05), reveló que existe relación significativa entre los hábitos alimenticios y los niveles de hemoglobina y hematocrito. Se concluyó que los niveles de hemoglobina y hematocrito son poco influenciados por la edad y sexo, en comparación con el IMC que sí es un factor importante debido a una inadecuada nutrición de los pacientes, lo que puede llevar a un cuadro de anemia por déficit de hierro
