Efectividad de betametasona comparada con dexametasona en la disminución de la morbilidad en prematuros del Hospital Belén de Trujillo

Resumen
Demostrar que la Betametasona es más efectiva que la Dexametasona en la disminución de la morbilidad en prematuros del Hospital Belén de Trujillo Material y método: Estudio de tipo cohorte retrospectiva. La muestra fue de 114 historias clínicas de recién nacidos prematuros que fueron atendidos en el departamento de Neonatología del Hospital Belén de Trujillo durante el periodo 2015 – 2018, quienes cumpliendo con los criterios de exclusión e inclusión fueron divididos en 2 grupos correspondiendo 57 a dexametasona y 57 a betametasona. Resultados: Se encontró diferencia significativa a favor de betametasona en cuando a Síndrome de distrés respiratorio tipo 1 (SDR) p=0.015, de igual manera diferencia significativa a favor de dexametasona para hemorragia intraventricular (HIV) p=0.010, mientras que no fue significativa para el resto de variables: displasia broncopulmonar (DBP), enterocolitis necrotizante (NEC) y sepsis neonatal (SN). Conclusiones: La corticoterapia prenatal con betametasona es más efectiva que la dexametasona para reducir el SDR tipo 1 en prematuros y la corticoterapia prenatal con dexametasona es más efectiva que la betametasona para reducir la hemorragia intraventricular en prematuros.
