Efecto de temperatura y cantidad de alúmina activada, como adsorbente en la remoción de cromo total de aguas de curtición

En la tesis de investigación, los parámetros evaluados, fueron la influencia de
temperatura y cantidad de alúmina empleada como adsorbente, con la finalidad de remover
el cromo total remanente en los efluentes de agua de curtición. Se obtuvo la muestra de los
efluentes de agua de curtido provenientes de la Curtiembre Ecológica del Norte. La
remoción se realizó a temperaturas de 20ºC, 30ºC, 40ºC, 60ºC y 80ºC, y en función de los
pesos de alúmina que fueron 1.0 g, 2.0 g, 2.5g y 3.0g. Para llevar a cabo el proceso de
adsorción se empleó un agitador magnético con calefacción, operando a 750 RPM, durante
30 minutos y a un pH de 3.8.
La cuantificación del cromo total de los efluentes de agua de curtición fue realizada
mediante el método volumétrico APHA - -AWWA - WPCF 3500Cr. Se obtuvo el mayor
porcentaje de remoción, el cual fue de 92.88% de cromo total, operando a una temperatura
de 80ºC y 3.0 g de alúmina. Se empleó el análisis de varianza bifactorial ANOVA en Excel
y en STATGRAPHICS, como método estadístico. Se trabajó empleando un nivel de
confianza del 95%, y se logró establecer que la temperatura y la dosis de adsorbente, tienen
una influencia directa y muy significativa en la remoción de cromo de aguas de efluentes
decurtición.
