Aumento de la eficiencia de avance por disparo cambiando el tipo de explosivo de emulsión encartuchada por emulsión a granel en los frentes de avance de sección 3.5mx3.0m - unidad minera San Vicente – Simsa, 2018

El proceso de voladura es uno de los más importantes en la cadena operacional
de la minería, siendo el rol de los explosivos aquel que fragmenta la roca y
conseguir realizar labores de desarrollo y preparación para llegar con mayor
prontitud a las nuevas zonas de mineral.
Para lograr lo mencionado, la unidad minera San Vicente, ubicada en la selva
central, viene utilizando un explosivo encartuchado “Emulnor” de la marca
FAMESA EXPLOSIVOS S.A.C. Este explosivo es una emulsión en una envoltura
plástica posee propiedades importantes para una voladura, pero ante un terreno
muy fracturado y con falla, la propiedad de confinamiento no es la adecuada; lo
que trae como consecuencia un avance por disparo inferior al avance esperado.
Por otro lado, existe en el mercado otro producto explosivo del tipo emulsión a
granel denominada EMULFRAG-MS fabricado por FAMESA EXPLOSIVOS
S.A.C. Este explosivo es una emulsión con componentes energizantes que le
permiten obtener una alta velocidad de detonación y presión de detonación, pero
sobre todo obtener el 100% del confinamiento.
En el presente trabajo se describe las características y bondades del uso de este
nuevo explosivo, además de ello se realiza una comparación del uso de ambos
explosivos en mención: el Emulnor y el Emulfrag. En especial se resalta las
ventajas de la emulsión a granel, debido a la propiedad de mejora del
confinamiento del explosivo; pues su uso trae consigo una mejora en la eficiencia
de avance: mientras que de una perforación efectiva de 3.19 m, con emulsión
encartuchada de obtiene un avance de 2.95 m y eficiencia de 92.7%; con la
emulsión a granel se obtiene un avance de 3.03 m y eficiencia del 95.1 %.
Después de una serie de pruebas, se consiguió un aumento de la eficiencia de
avance por disparo al realizar el cambio del actual tipo de emulsión encartuchada
por emulsión a granel en los frentes de avance de sección 3.5mx3.0m,
obteniendo así una mejora en los indicadores de productividad y costos; los
mismos que se muestran en esta investigación.
