Resumen
El presente estudio de investigación, de tipo Descriptivo Correlacional, se seleccionaron 88 madres como muestra, que tuvieron a sus menores hijos de 1 a 4 años con presencia de enfermedad diarreica en el Hospital Leoncio Prado, Huamachuco con el propósito de determinar la relación de los factores socioculturales y nivel de conocimiento de las madres con la presencia de enfermedades diarreicas agudas en los niño de 1 a 4 años. Se aplicó un formulario encuesta, los datos revelaron que la incidencia de enfermedades diarreicas agudas son elevadas con un 89,8 %. En cuanto a los factores socioculturales, el agua es obtenida en un 53,4% del pozo y rio, la eliminación de excretas es en una letrina (67%), existe hacinamiento en un 71%, el 70,5% cría animales. En relación al nivel de conocimiento, se observó que el 83% de las madres tiene un adecuado nivel de conocimientos. Se encontró relación estadísticamente significativa entre los factores socioculturales: abastecimiento de agua, hábitos higiénicos, cría de animales e ingreso económico con la presencia de enfermedades diarreicas.
