The purpose of this study was to determine the economic and environmental sustainability of a prototype horizontal wind turbine installed in a multifamily building in Trujillo - Peru. Environmental sustainability was determined using emergy-based indices while economical sustainability was assessed using traditional economic indices. The emergy analysis applied allowed the estimation of indices such as PR (percentage of renewability; 0,248), EYR (emergy yield ratio; 1,33), ELR (environmental loading ratio; 3,03), ESI (emergy sustainability index; 0,438) EIR (emergy investment ratio; 3,03), EER (emergy exchange ratio; 0,18), which are highly dependent system regarding to imported machineries, plus a medium efficiency over the use of local resources for society benefits, low environmental impact and emissions, and medium cost production compared to other electricity production processes. From the classical point of view, for 25 years useful life, the project is economically unprofitable, it presents negative NPV and IRR values, with a 2971,04 dollars of investment loss
