Cintura hipertrigliceridémica en mujeres pre y postmenopáusicas de trujillo 2011 - 2012

El sobrepeso y la obesidad que desarrollan las mujeres menopáusicas significan un aumento del perímetro de la cintura el cual se relaciona fundamentalmente con la hipertrigliceridemia, siendo éstas dos condiciones núcleo patógeno del sindrome metabólico. Objetivos: Comparar la frecuencia de Cintura Hipertrigliceridémica (CHT) en mujeres pre y postmenopáusicas. Material y método: Estudio transversal y analitico. Incluyó a 140 mujeres, 70 premenopáusicas y 70 postmenopáusicas entre los 40 y 65 años durante el periodo de Julio del 2011 hasta Diciembre del 2012. La selección fue según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Se midió peso, talla y circunferencia de cintura, según protocolos internacionales recomendados. Se consideró cintura hipertrigliceridémica si circunferencia de cintura es mayor o igual a 80cm y triglicéridos mayor o igual a 150 mg/dl. Resultados: La frecuencia de la CHT en las mujeres premenopáusicas fue de 35.7% y en mujeres postmenopáusicas fue de 38.57%. El OR fue de 1.13 con IC al 95% de 0.569 al 2.244 y p de 0.8611. Conclusiones: La menopausia no afecta la frecuencia de la cintura hipertrigliceridémica
