El presente estudio de tipo descriptivo, de corte transversal, se realizo con
la finalidad de determinar la relación que existe entre las Creencias en
Salud y las Prácticas de Prevención de los contactos de pacientes con
Tuberculosis Pulmonar del Programa de Control de la Tuberculosis del
Hospital de Apoyo Chepén durante el mes de Julio del 2011, el universo
muestral estuvo constituido por 50 contactos, para la obtención de datos
se utilizaron dos instrumentos, uno que permitió valorar las Creencias en
Salud y otro que valoró las Prácticas de Prevención de los contactos. Los
datos obtenidos fueron tabulados y presentados en cuadros de simple y
doble entrada y procesados mediante la Prueba de Independencia de
Criterios (Chi Cuadrado). Los resultados permiten concluir que el 86 por ciento de
los contactos presentaron Creencias en Salud positivas y el 14 por ciento
negativas, el 84 por ciento presentaron Prácticas de Prevención adecuadas y el
16 por ciento no adecuadas. Las Creencias en Salud tiene una relación altamente
significativa (p=0.000) con las Prácticas de Prevención.
