Resumen
This subject is intended to offer a wide-range view on the main issues concerning the formation and performance of international commercial contracts in general and of contracts for the international sale of goods in particular whether these are manufactured or commodities. The diversity of legal systems prompts the need for some common order to foster international commercial transactions. The obligations of both seller and buyer are discussed in the wider context of a complementary ¿even if not legally binding- body of general rules. There is also a part related to the study of contracts related to the sale of goods such as the marine transportation contracts and insurance contracts as well as documentary credits. A short introduction to both the INCOTERMS 2010 and English sales law -as applied to international commodity sales contracts- is provided at the end of the course.
