Resumen
The article analyzes the competencies related to the level of academic achievement in the course Introduction to Law, measured from the reading of the books Ethics for Amador and The Social Contract. The study was of a basic non-experimental cross-sectional type, a questionnaire was applied to measure the level of achievement of competencies through a Likert scale. It is proposed that the guided reading of the chosen books contributes to the development of competencies in the Law students of the Universidad Privada del Norte. The categorical qualitative variables, Level of Achievement and Performance Criteria of Competencies, were analyzed by means of the Chi-Square statistic that sought to determine the relationship, dependence, association or influence between variables. It was concluded that there are performance criteria of competencies that have a significant relationship with the level of academic achievement of the participating students.
