José Toribio Medina e a Inquisição na América: as origens de um tema histórico

Medina), this work approach the origin of knowledge about the Inquisition in America as a particular historical issue. This is a process in which the Chilean historian and Americanist was a pioneer thanks to his numerous documentary publications. Alluding to the background and context of his original work in 19th century America, as well as the reactions it motivated, evaluations and criticisms of his work been viewed in the context of 20th century history. It also provides numerous indications and references on the historiography of the Inquisition in America, for which J. T. Medina is an antecedent less and less considered as historiography, but highly appreciated as a documentary source.
