Resumen
In pen-urban rural areas of the Metropolitan Region of Santiago de Chile, the processes of socio-territorial transformation are not homogeneous spatial expression. In this, the strategies of local actors in the processes of land management will be progressively more important, the product of accumulated social experience. In this vein, some studies show that new strategies and local land valuation projects are possible. The transformations of the metropolitan city currently imposes the need to rethink the forms of urban management, generating conflict and move towards the construction of participatory governance that ensures the viability of the metropolitan urban growth.
