Percepción de los adultos mayores sobre la protección social que reciben del estado de Chile

Abstract

La siguiente investigación tiene como propósito describir y analizar las percepciones de los Adultos mayores (AM) sobre la protección social que reciben por parte del Estado de Chile y como estos se desenvuelven con esta, el estudio se desarrollará a través de los relatos de cinco adultos mayores que compartieron sus experiencias por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas que fueron analizadas por análisis de contenido temático de forma cualitativa. Mediante los relatos de los adultos mayores se puede observar un claro panorama sobre la protección social enfocada en los Adultos mayores en Chile, esto en materia de vivienda, salud, alimentación, participación, integración y valoración. Los resultados demuestran que los adultos mayores se encuentran inconformes respecto a las temáticas expuestas y la conclusión que se hace es que hay un abandono por parte del Estado en protección social en enfoque de derechos para con los adultos mayores.

The purpose of the following research is to describe and analyze the perceptions of the elderly population (EP) on the social protection they receive from the State of Chile and how they develop with this, the study will be conducted through the stories of five elders who shared their experiences by means of a semi structured interview that were analyzed by an analysis of thematic content in a qualitative methodology. Through the stories of the elders a clear panorama can be observed on social protection focused on the elderly in Chile, this in terms of housing, health, food, participation, integration and valuation. Results show that the elders are dissatisfied with the terms previously mentioned and the obtained conclusion is that there is an abandonment from the State in social protection on a rights approach to elderly population.
