Introducción. Internet ha logrado generar grandes ventajas potencializando la interacción entre las personas y el tránsito de la información en el mundo, es allí cuando surge Internet de las Cosas o IoT (Internet of Things en inglés), comenzó a desarrollarse a mediados de los años 90, de esta manera, los objetos del mundo físico o del mundo virtual se identifican y a su vez se integran a redes que permiten conectar información, que puede ser dinámica o estática. Objetivo. El objetivo de esta investigación se basa en analizar los diferentes avances de las IoT y las diversas aplicaciones que tienen hoy en día. Metodología. Se emplea una metodología de tipo documental a través de una revisión bibliográfica que permita dilucidar los aspectos más relevantes del IoT. Resultados. La gran evolución de IoT, ha permitido un sin número de interconexiones de redes a diferentes dispositivos que gracias a la internet, permiten desarrollar sus capacidades para expandir los servicios, estos equipos como computadoras de escritorio, servidores, tabletas y teléfonos inteligentes han sido creados para formar parte de esta red de interconexión y es por eso que son capaces de procesar, almacenar, expandir la conectividad a otros dispositivos de la vida cotidiana como sensores, automóviles, equipos electrodomésticos entre otros, logrando que estos objetos sean capaces de interactuar con las personas generando e intercambiando datos relevantes. Conclusión. Es fundamental reconocer el poder del internet y de las redes que permiten esta interacción humano-cosa, y máquina-máquina, permitiendo optimizar procesos, lograr innovaciones en diversos ámbitos de la vida, y en diversos sectores como a nivel industrial para lograr mejoras en los procesos productivos, rapidez y productos de calidad, a nivel educativo, creando ambientes diversos y avanzados de aprendizaje que faciliten la comprensión a través de ambientes más dinámicos, brindando conectividad desde cualquier lugar en cualquier momento.Introduction. Conclusion. It is essential to recognize the power of the internet and networks that allow this human-thing, and machine-machine interaction, allowing to optimize processes, achieve innovations in various areas of life, and in various sectors such as at the industrial level to achieve improvements in production processes, speed and quality products, at an educational level, creating diverse and advanced learning environments that facilitate understanding through more dynamic environments, providing connectivity from anywhere at any time.
