La siguiente investigación tiene como propósito identificar si la apertura de una empresa de catering, en la isla de Útila resultaría factible. Se realizó una investigación de mercado, aplicada a través de encuestas y entrevistas para identificar los servicios más requeridos por el mercado meta, la oferta existente en relación a este negocio y la demanda potencial de este servicio. Una vez analizados los resultados, se identificó que la mayor necesidad en la isla es la adquisición de alimentos para la realización de eventos es por eso que se realizó una propuesta de un plan de negocios para el montaje de una compañía que provea exclusivamente este servicio. El plan de negocio concluye con un estudio financiero desde las perspectivas optimista, conservadora y pesimista. Se demostró que la apertura de esta empresa de servicios no es de alto riesgo y que podría resultar muy factible al inversionista.The following research aims to identify whether opening a catering company on the Island Utila would be a good investment or not. A marketing research was made; the information was collected through surveys and interviews to identify the services that are most needed by the target market identify the actual suppliers to this business and the potential demand for this service. After analyzing the results, it was identified that the greatest need in the island is the purchase of food for event realization, which is why the business plan proposal is made for a company that provides this service exclusively. The business plan concludes with a financial study from the perspectives optimistic, conservative and pessimistic.
