| dc.description | Mediterranean Shipping Company conocida como MSC la segunda agencia naviera más grande internacionalmente en su rubro con sede en Ginebra Suiza. Esta compañía opera desde 1970 y en la actualidad se encentra en 170 puertos alrededor del mundo; cuenta con 493 agencias en muchas ciudades, San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras una de ellas. Esta organización tiene como pilares el profesionalismo, la pasión, la constante evolución, el cuidado, la familia y la igualdad de oportunidades. El desarrollo de la práctica profesional se llevó a cabo en un periodo de 10 semanas entre el 20 de enero al 27 de marzo del año 2020. La práctica profesional se realizó en el área de finanzas, donde se realizaron una serie de trabajos que combinan las tareas financieras con los procesos logísticos de los barcos; se llevaron a cabo varias asignaciones financiares como la contabilización de facturas y de tarjetas de crédito, actualización de movimientos bancarios así como tareas que tienen que ver con la logística de los barcos, tales como el provisionamiento de fondos para pagar los costos que incurren los barcos y el envío de dichos reportes a su sede en Ginebra para ser analizados posteriormente. Las agencias navieras son inmensamente importantes, son una herramienta por medio de la cual se realiza intercambio comercial entre países permitiendo así la exportación e importación de bienes entre un país y otro por vía marítima; el transporte marítimo es indispensable para los países, sin este el comercio internacional no sería viable. Según datos de la Conferencia de Naciones Unidas sobre Comercio y Desarrollo el 80% del volumen del comercio mundial y más del 70% de su valor financiero transitan por mar y por los puertos del mundo entero. | |
| dc.description | Mediterranean Shipping Company known as MSC is the second largest international shipping agency in its field with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This company has been operating since 1970 and currently operates in 170 ports around the world; it has 493 agencies in many cities, San Pedro Sula, Cortés, Honduras being one of them. The pillars of this organization are professionalism, passion, constant evolution, care, family and equal opportunities. The development of the professional practice was carried out in a period of 10 weeks between January 20 to March 27, 2020. The internship was carried out in the area of finance, where a number of tasks were performed that combine financial tasks with the logistical processes of the ships; various financial assignments were carried out such as accounting for invoices and credit cards, updating bank movements as well as tasks that have to do with the logistics of the ships, such as the provisioning of funds to pay the costs incurred by the ships and sending these reports to their headquarters in Geneva for further analysis. Shipping agencies are immensely important, they are a tool through which trade is carried out between countries, thus allowing the export and import of goods between one country and another by sea; maritime transport is indispensable for countries, without it international trade would not be viable. According to data from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, 80% of the volume of world trade and more than 70% of its financial value transits by sea and through ports around the world. | |
