Resumen
The objective of this study was to understand the acting of coordinators of liturgical
song with the groups of the churches in which they congregate. For my reflections, I
dialogued with authors in the field of Music Education and Music Education in religious
environments, specifically. The research was carried out in the context of three
Presbyterian churches of Rio Grande do Sul. This study is of a qualitative nature,
having conducted individual and collective qualitative interviews via video calling
platform. The results of the research showed that the church is a place where musical
formation is constantly taking place, be it unsystematically, through courses or in
several other ways. The way groups are organized points to individual and collective
moments of musical learning. The coordination of groups of liturgical songs proved to
be a task full of challenges, such as the search for liturgical music and dealing with the
ephemerality and assiduity of the members of the groups. From the perspective of the
interviewees, it is necessary for a coordinator to “have testimony” and “call” and
develop some skills: having the ability to carefully examine the lyrics of the songs, to
know music (specifically music theory of tonal music, harmonic field, tonal
transposition) and to know how to teach it.
igrejas Presbiterianas do Rio Grande do Sul.
A coordenação
